Spain has so many beautiful villages ranging from little medieval villages where you will be whisked back in time to villages perched in the mountains or looking out over shimmering blue seas.
Following the success of the "most beautiful villages of France" listing various other countries including Spain have chosen to do the same thing in their own countries.
To qualify a village must have less than 15,000 inhabitants and must have a certified architectural and natural heritage. An audit of the village is then carried out to decide if it can be counted one of the most beautiful villages or not.
The most beautiful villages of Spain association was created in 2013 and there are now 94 most beautiful villages on the list.
These charming villages should definitely feature as part of any travelling you do in Spain. They are spread out throughout the country.
