Spicy Potatoes

A great hit with children as well as adults spicy potatoes are easy to make and can be made in advance and eaten cold.  Serve as part of a tapas selection with marinated olives, tortilla and spicy potatoes.


Serves 4

750g potatoes, either new and unpeeled or peeled older potatoes

75ml/5tbsp olive oil

2 cloves garlic, chopped

1 small red chilli

1 tsp ground cumin

2 tsp paprika

2 tbsp red wine vinegar

1 red pepper, sliced

course sea salt and pepper


Boil the potatoes until tender. Cut into chunks.

Fry the potatoes in the olive oil.

Crush the chilli pepper, garlic and cumin with a pestle and mortar. Add paprika and wine vinegar.

Add the garlic mixture to the potatoes along with the sliced pepper and continue frying for 2-3 minutes.

Add salt and pepper.

Serve your spicy potatoes  warm or cold.
